Planning for an Office Christmas Party

If you are a SME, it can be challenging to create a party atmosphere for your staff Christmas party.  This is much different for larger companies where they have the headcounts to help get the year-end celebrations going and planned. As well as giving your staff the chance to let their hair down, holding a Christmas Party is a valuable way of rewarding them for all their hard work.
To add, given the smaller budget for SMEs, there are limitations to how grand you can have a party. Choosing the right location and setting for your party is important to enhance the feeling of cohesiveness among staff.  A poor setting, basic food and low budget Christmas decorations could leave your staff feeling undervalued and defeat the purpose of having the party in the first place.
As spoken earlier, there are limitations to the venue selections due to constraint budget for smaller companies. During this season of the year, most eateries are offering only Christmas Sets and Menu, and they don’t come cheap. Drinks are another factor you need to consider when dining at restaurants. You can’t possibly exclude alcohol when it is the year-end party right!
All in all, the budget for each headcount will easily come up to a hundred and company size of 20-30 will easily set you back by the thousands.
One of the more feasible ideas will be to do everything in-house! You can set aside some budget to get the Christmas decorations done up starting from November, with all these involving your staff. This is also a good form of team building! Getting a Christmas tree and nice accessories from wholesalers will only set you back by a few hundred.
By having a Christmas party in the office, make sure you have the tables’ settings change to accommodate the event. You do not want a ‘feel’ where your staff still have the feeling of being in the office. Don’t save on the décor in this sense!
Next, FOOD! This is the most important aspect of the party. Many restaurants are offering takeaways Christmas set menu. If you have a staff strength of 30, you can source for buffet catering companies that provide buffet delivery Singapore to your desired location. Many caterers out there are offering Christmas buffet menu, Christmas set menu or mini buffet Singapore for this season. Fret not for smaller groups as you can choose from their mini buffet catering selection, high tea buffet catering or even a la carte menu. Don’t forget to do your due diligent research on buffet catering recommendation on any social accounts or forums for the best deal in town to have a cheap buffet catering and preferably one that can waive off the mini buffet delivery fee to further reduce the overall cost.
